Tacos 3D Printing · Custom Design

Have a File, Photo, Part or
Just an Idea?

No CAD file? No STL? That's what the custom design service is for. Bring a file, photo, measurement, sketch, broken-part reference, or idea — we model your part to print-ready spec and quote the job ourselves. Material, finish, and lead time come back with the quote, not after.

For a 3D file, choose Upload Your File and attach your STL, 3MF, or OBJ to the email that opens.

Quote-first, always

How it works

Every submission is reviewed before we quote, so you know what the job involves before deciding.

See the full process
  1. Send the reference

Share the file, photo, sketch, measurements, or just the idea.

  2. We review it

The team looks at your submission and follows up if a detail needs clarifying.

  3. Get a job-specific quote

Material, finish, and lead time come back together in a real quote.

  4. Approve before production

You give the go-ahead before we print. No payment before approval.

What it means

From your idea to a print-ready model

Custom Design is the service we run when you arrive with an idea but no print-ready file. You bring the brief; we handle the geometry, the tolerances, and the print setup.

Once the model is ready, we quote the job in plain terms — material, finish, and lead time — so you see the real number before approving anything. No add-ons later, no mystery line items, no minimum order.

Who it's for

Built for jobs other shops won't take

Whether you're running a small business, building an invention, or putting together merch and signage — a one-off job is what we do every day.

Small businesses

Replacement brackets, mounting plates, signage pieces, shop fixtures, and one-off tools — built rugged and quoted per piece.

Inventors & makers

Working prototypes, patent-ready mockups, functional test parts, and short production runs of a part you've been sketching.

Marketing & merch

Branded merch, event pieces, signage, display props, and small-batch custom goods — designed from your reference and printed in West Texas.

How to start a project

Four steps from brief to printed part

No intake form, no portal. Send us an email — we read every brief ourselves and reply with a real quote, usually within a business day.

  1. 01

    Send your brief

Email us an idea, a sketch, a photo, or any combination. The more reference you have, the tighter the first quote.

  2. 02

    We review and reply

We read every brief personally and reply with clarifying questions, feasibility notes, or a next-step proposal.

  3. 03

    We design and quote

We model your part to print-ready spec, then quote material, finish, and lead time so you have a real number before approving.

  4. 04

    You approve and we print

On your approval we run the job on the shop floor in West Texas — small batch, quoted per job, none of the off-the-shelf pricing.

What to send

The brief, in plain language

You don't need a finished drawing — any combination of the items below is enough to start the conversation. Photos and sketches live in your phone? Send those.

  • What you want the part to do — a short written idea of the job it needs to do.

  • Any reference you have — sketch on paper, napkin drawing, photo, clipping, or screenshot.

  • Rough dimensions or sizes — at minimum, the longest side and how it sits in the space.

  • Quantity and use case — one-up prototype, a handful of copies, or short production run.

  • Deadlines, material preferences, finish, color, and any environment the part will live in (heat, weather, UV, chemicals).
